A Grassroots Movement

A grassroots community movement to bring professional hockey back to Maryland.

The ECHL is planning to expand to 32 teams and the data proves that Frederick, Maryland should be in the conversation. With your help we are going to make that happen. So ‘Join the Fight’ and help us put our state and its support for professional hockey on the map!

IS MARYLAND READY FOR the return of
PRO HOCKEY?  The Numbers say

yes.

Not only can we support a team, the data suggests an ECHL team would thrive in Maryland!  Multiple feasibility studies have determined that Frederick is the prime location for an ECHL club.

Arena

The Arena

The first question asked when a city makes a Pro Sports push is, "where will they play?" We feel the selected site should integrate itself thoughtfully within its surrounding community, optimize the fan experience before, during, and after games, be relatively easy to get in and out of, and be a useful space 365 days a year. We have explored a handful of locations around Frederick that could accommodate such a complex.

Located on Stadium Drive, next to Nymeo Field, the Frederick Arena project will transform the region into Frederick's 'Stadium District' housing both the Frederick Keys, the future hockey club, a future basketball club, and potentially Hood College Athletics, as well as shows, expos, concerts and other events.

We will be releasing new potential locations as we uncover them and current renderings of an arena district are currently in production. Got an idea of a location that might fit? We will look into it and if it works, we will have it mocked-up. Feel free to drop us a line on social media.
